Tamar Towing & Caravans (TTC) is a workshop and caravan dealership operating in Plymouth, Devon. They supply new and pre-owned caravans and have a dedicated on-site team for fitting towbars, roof bars and roof boxes, as well as a full trailer and caravan servicing facility.
TTC asked b:web to provide a brand strategy alongside a new website which was to be big and bold – capable of displaying large, striking images of their new caravans with a gallery wall of small, feature images. They needed the ability to integrate with their POS listing software with full descriptions and spec lists, with a comparable system for offering trailer sales and rentals. TTC needed to market their workshop services and the retail products available from their store. Finally, as Tamar’s core business is selling and fitting towbars, they needed a way of providing accurate online quotations that took account of all the many possible variations inherent in the process.
The website needed to be responsive with flexible content layouts and a simple admin system that was easy for non-technical staff to use.
We create a bespoke extension for WordPress which integrated with the Tamar Towing POS API. Our solution pulled through the relevant data for the caravans for sale and split them into either new and used to be displayed on the website. All of the data on the sales pages are populated via the feed.
In addition a bespoke web app was developed by b:web to provide an online quotation tool for towbar fitting customers to use both online and in-store. The app takes account of the vehicle model, fitting type, and towbar model to provide a completely tailored and live quotation. The app is used in-store by the sales team to produce professional looking quotations and on the website as a lead generation tool.
b:web streamlined the existing and confusing branding, creating a single umbrella brand for all core aspects of the business. Bespoke iconography was then designed to complement the logo, visually representing technical features of the caravans.
The main brochure website was developed as a bespoke WordPress solution which integrated seamlessly with our bespoke extension. The website has proven easy to use by both customers an sales representative and easy to find on search engines.
b:web are providing ongoing marketing and SEO support to Tamar Towing, with content and imagery for social media posts and an ongoing website-improvement scheme using heatmaps, analytics and live feedback tools.
